Empowering Women: PILA Partners with Lagos State Government on Insurance Initiative

 

 

To commemorate the 2025 International Women's Day, a delegation led by Abimbola Onakomaiya, President of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA), paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Barrister Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and other senior government officials at the Cabinet Office in Alausa, Lagos. 

This visit marked a significant gesture of solidarity and collaboration between PILA and the Lagos State Government, aligning with the global theme of International Women's Day 2025: "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment"

Information available to Insurance People Magazine revealed that that the notable visit provided avenue for discussions which centered around partnership with Lagos State to provide various gender lens insurances that would foster financial empowerment of women, Educational Children’s Endowment insurance, CSR project – “Adopt an Orphan,Transform a Future”, Training and Mentorship.

Abimbola Onakomaiya noted that it was noteworthy that the Lagos State Governor was apprised of the courtesy call and welcomed the partnership.

She said the partnership would birth great leadership, expanding PILA’s horizon, enlarge its coast and accelerate Action.
